The idea was taken to its logical and comically aburd conclusion when it was imagined that the book itself should have legs and a cup holder, turning the book itself into a coffee table. In 2004, Sony Pictures Television created a limited run of five hundred actual "coffee table books" signed by none other than J.Seinfeld. These books were presented to the affiliates who ran the show as syndicates. Fictionally however the fifth season Seinfeld featured a story line where Kramer wanted to write such a book. The book summarized the TV serial with color photographs and it did actually include legs to allow the book to double as a coffee table.
